Pulsar Merger LRF XL50 Thermal Binocular

(2.5-20x magnification and 2,000 yards of detection!)

The Pulsar Merger LRF XL50 thermal imaging binoculars are known for their powerful 1024×768 @ 12 µm thermal sensor – the first one with HD resolution in Pulsar devices. The obvious benefit of it is the high image detail, but there is more. Because the sensor can capture even the smallest temperature differences and has such a big resolution, it also allows to retain image clarity and a high level of detail throughout the whole magnification range. In practice, this means that even if you spot your target far away and zoom in on it 20 times (the maximum zoom Merger allows), you will still get a highly informative image.

Pulsar MERGER LRF XL50 Thermal Binoculars – Details like never before!

New HD 1024×768 @ 12 µm thermal sensor

Merger LRF XL50 offers the next level of thermal imaging experience. The image generated by the new 1024×768 pixels thermal sensor features high definition and rich detail. It is ideal for uncompromised trophy identification. Silhouettes, anatomy & behavioral peculiarities of animals are well visible and distinguishable.

High image detail across the whole magnification range of 2.5-20x

Variable 2.5-20x magnification provides improved focus and better overall object recognition at significant distances. The HD sensor allows to maintain high level of image detail over the entire magnification range. The zoom changes either gradually in 2x step or continuously for a customized FOV / magnification ratio for each specific situation.

Wide field of view

Merger LRF XL50 offers a wide field of view for easy scanning and spotting. Explore landscapes in HD quality with a wide 14-degree FOV and optimal 2.5x magnification. Large-format sensor allows for having a best-in-class FOV / magnification ratio even on high zoom levels, up to 20x.

User mode

Use the brightness and contrast adjustments to maximize the detail and informative value of the image in specific observation conditions. The User Mode function saves selected brightness and contrast settings in the device’s memory providing optimal image quality for the next use of the thermal imager immediately, with no additional adjustments needed.

Extra-long detection range

Powerful objective lens in combination with professional grade 12 µm / 1024×768 pix HD thermal imaging sensor provides exceptional detection capabilities. A standard 1,8m tall object can be detected at a 2300 m distance in complete darkness.

Classic binocular design

Merger LRF thermal imaging binoculars are built with the classic design of daytime binoculars. With a small form factor, these thermal imaging binoculars fit comfortably in the hand, but still offer appealing external aesthetics and exemplary ergonomics. The six function buttons are placed in the comfort access zone and the most used digital device functions are activated with a single touch.

Comfortable viewing experience with both eyes

The Merger LRF binoculars’ optical design fully takes into account the nature of human vision. It is natural for a person to receive visual information through two visual channels simultaneously. Viewing with two eyes is less tiring than viewing with one. This means better detection of small or faint objects, and better performance in low-contrast scenarios than similar monocular thermal imaging devices with the same technical level. The interpupillary distance in the Merger LRF binoculars is adjustable from 62 to 74 mm in accordance with the individual characteristics of a particular user.

Precise laser rangefinder with 1000 m measuring distance

Understanding the target distance is an essential factor in making the right decisions. A built-in laser rangefinder with a range of up to 1 kilometer allows you to measure distances in single measurements and continuous scanning modes with an accuracy of ± 1 meters for quick and error-free assessment of the situation.

Combined dual battery system

The Merger LRF XL50 is powered with two rechargeable batteries: one built-in with a capacity of 4 Ah, and the other replaceable APS 3 Battery with a capacity of 3.2 Ah. A single charge guarantees long battery life. The embossment on the body of the replaceable battery for accurate determination of the correct position makes it possible to quickly and confidently replace a flat battery with a new one in complete darkness by touch.

3 levels of sensitivity amplification

Selection of the signal amplification level combined with new filtration algorithms with fine brightness and contrast adjustments offers the hunter great opportunities for long-range observation in diverse weather and temperature conditions. Amplification setting helps to define an animal’s trophy features and ensures clear rendering of objects and background in the field of view.

User mode

Use the brightness and contrast adjustments to maximize the detail and informative value of the image in specific observation conditions. The User Mode function saves selected brightness and contrast settings in the device’s memory providing optimal image quality for the next use of the thermal imager immediately, with no additional adjustments needed.

Fast aperture F50/1.0 germanium lens

Germanium F50/1.0 lens features high infrared transmission in the LWIR range. Due to the high precision manufacturing of the optical elements of the lens, the image generated by the Merger LRF thermal imaging binoculars sensor is distinguished for its clarity and detailing.

Rugged magnesium alloy housing

Merger LRF is designed for constant, often hard use. A magnesium alloy housing is light and strong at the same time. The housing reliably protects the internal components of a thermal imaging device from shocks, drops, moisture, heat, or cold. At the same time, a metal housing effectively removes the heat from electronics and increases the consistency of the device’s operation during long-term observation.

Built-in photo and video recorder

The Merger LRF has a built-in video recorder. The internal memory of Merger LRF can store hours of video and tens of thousands of photos. One touch of a button is enough to take a photo of an interesting scene or start recording a video. The footage is copied to a computer hard drive via a USB-C port. The Merger LRF owner has a free 16 GB disk space for storing photos and videos captured with the device in the Pulsar cloud storage. Simply install the Stream Vision 2 mobile application, log in, and connect the device to a smartphone via Wi-Fi.

Stream Vision 2. Wi-Fi integration with iOS and Android devices

Built-in Wi-Fi connects the Merger LRF to Android and iOS smartphones via the Stream Vision 2 mobile application. This opens up a wide range of options including wireless device software updates, real-time image transmission from the device to the smartphone screen, publication on social media of photo and video content captured by the device or transfer to messengers, remote control of digital device functions and access to the latest news from Pulsar. Moreover, registered users receive 16 GB of cloud storage for photos and videos recorded with the device.

Dual Wi-Fi waveband Support 2.4 / 5 GHz

In Merger LRF thermal imagers, the standard smartphone connection frequency range via a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi channel is complemented with an effective 5 GHz range. The 5 GHz connection offers better bandwidth, a faster data transfer rate, noise immunity, and improved connection stability, resulting in more productive and easier operation of the thermal imager with a smartphone.

High-contrast HD AMOLED displays

While the Merger’s HD AMOLED displays deliver crisp, richly contrasted, vividly colored field of view, AMOLED technology ensures flawless, fluid, high-resolution images, and power saving.

A selection of 8 color palettes

A choice of 8 color palettes lets the user observe their field of view more effectively, allowing them to optimize the unit for specific tasks as well as react to changing observation conditions. White Hot, Black Hot, and Red Hot are optimal for object detection, Rainbow and Ultramarine help increase chances for recognition & identification. Red Monochrome, Sepia, and Violet are most suitable for long observation at night.

IPX7 submersion waterproof-rated

IPX7 waterproof-rated for protection from heavy rainfall, snow, or other precipitation. The unit is designed to run flawlessly, even after submersion in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes.

Operation in extreme temperatures -25 to +50°C

Housing, power units, optics, and electronics of Merger LRF are designed for applications in a wide range of temperatures. Merger ensures reliable and effective performance in cold up to -25°C.

Proximity sensor for covert use

Observation in the dark requires being covert so that hunted animals are not alerted by your presence. Going to stand-by using the Display Off feature is a usual way to prevent backlight from the eyepieces. To simplify this task Merger LRF has a built-in proximity sensor.
It acts as a display switch for preventing backlight exposure in the dark. When the unit is taken away from the eyes, the proximity sensor switches both displays off and when the unit is brought closer both displays are switched on offering excellent image quality.
